Heady, intensely aromatic. Yet again we have confirmation of the magic of this bend of Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Picpoul. If ever the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, this is it. Of course, you can’t beat Roussanne for a silky, elegant mouthfeel. In addition, it brings honey and fruit to the palate and contributes to the long lovely finish. Add Grenache Blanc and you have green apple, a touch of minerality and floral aromas. Picpoul is here for tropical lushness and acidity. All in all this is a rich, fruity wine, nicely balanced, featuring an unusually luscious finish. 25 cases remaining 50 cases produced.

No grape is more completely dependable for consistent flavor in our vineyard than Viognier. Every year is like falling in love again. How could you not love something that smells so inviting? It feels as if the spring fragrance in the air is transported to the glass - a warm day, flowers budding, bees buzzing, promise everywhere. Summer stone fruit - peaches, apricots, nectarines - in the mouth caress the taste buds before leading to a prolonged lovely, lingering brightly balanced finish. Ah, the beauty of spring in a glass! 10 cases remaining 28 cases produced.

Set in Seville, Spain, the opera, Carmen, has been acclaimed for its brilliance of melody, harmony, and orchestration, as well as for the skill with which the composer, Bizet, represents the extravagant emotions of his exotic characters - fiery Carmen, naïve José, a dashing toreador. And we see all that here, in a bottle of our very own Spanish Tempranillo. A bit savory, but harmonious, with diverse elements of fruit and leather, it’s easy to enjoy its drinkability, topped off by light acidity and long a smooth, slightly tannic finish. Unlike the operatic parallel you’ll find nothing tragic here. Like the opera, however, you will find complete pleasure in well-integrated complexity. Olé!! 15 cases remaining 100 cases produced.

34% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Franc, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Petite Verdot. Blending is a challenge, but when done right it’s truly an art. These very similar but decidedly different grapes certainly play well together. The ‘come hither’ in the nose is hard to tease apart but we find a dark brooding quality that combines worn Mercedes leather with brown spices and a touch of sultry lipstick. There is an overall hint of a fine antique polished to a rich sheen. Now taste it. Complete in the mouth it ends with a beautiful balance that lingers long and lovingly on the palate. 39 cases remaining 100 cases produced.

If ever there was an example of creative, sensitive blending bringing an exciting wine to life, this is it. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Syrah barrel aged for over two years results in a voluptuous wine from beginning to end. Aroma, - wow. Fruit - dark, exemplary. Mouthfeel – full, rich. Flavor – delightful dark berries, stunning white pepper. Finish – many claim a long-lasting end, but this one is the real deal. 25 cases remaining 125 cases produced.

Rich and unusually full-bodied, this Tempranillo is very characteristic of this noble grape from Spain. Lovely cherry is intermingled with a bit of clove, an indefinable earthiness that could be tobacco. And the tannins, strong, yet soft are aching to be paired with tomato sauces, Mexican cuisine or, of course, paella. Here we have the result of a very low yield crop year bringing robust flavor and aromatics to a grape not always known for intensity. This one you can cellar for a while, but I’m not sure you’ll want to. I taste as I write these notes and I can tell you, there is something like a caress in the long, long finish 25 cases remaining 100 cases produced.

We love this wine. All too rarely presented as a single variety, you will be enchanted by the violets in the nose, complemented by nutmeg, pencil shavings, a hint of eucalyptus along with deep, full red fruit and a hint of brambles. Its dark color and balance will beguile you, as well as challenge you to detect all its nuances. Never mind that though. Its characteristic soft tannins pair well with roasted meats, game, rabbit or even bouillabaisse. There’s nothing ordinary about this wine, so savor every sip. This one is very special. 10 cases remaining 50 cases produced.

New vocabulary is part of our lives. Social media is particularly responsible for new word creation. But some words have meaning that will never change. Marriage is one of those words - “two partners in a personal relationship.” So we give you two partners making equal contributions, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. In any good marriage the total is greater than the sum of the parts, and so it is here. Perfectly complementary, lush Merlot and masculine Cabernet Sauvignon combine to result in a whopping flavor-filled glass of full-bodied dark cherry, toasted oak overlaid with a touch of chocolate. Don’t be in a hurry with food or another sip of wine. Revel in the long, lingering finish. 14 cases remaining 75 cases produced.

Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon – Quintessential Cabernet Sauvignon. This is what it brings to mind: “Nobody does it better - Makes me feel sad for the rest Nobody does it half as good as you, Baby you’re the best “ (Carly Simon) And for a Bordeaux wine, it is a baby. The brambly, oaky, fruity nose will just get better, to say nothing of the hint of supple new leather, dark chocolate and brown spices. Well-rounded tannins will allow you to hold this wine, if you can. If not, just enjoy it with juicy red meat, but be sure to savor every drop. This one’s a beauty from the aromatic beginning to the long, lovely finish. 13 cases remaining 75 cases produced.

You may remember that Terrestris is our Bordeaux blend. But this time around there’s no lush Merlot in it. Primarily Cabernet Franc complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Verdot, it has a backbone that will make it an excellent ager. Though why you would want to age it we’re not quite sure. It is a stunner in its youthful pride, wearing an aggressive new French oak barrel program with stylish finesse. This wine, out of the chute, is a beauty. To tease out aroma and flavor is always a challenge, but we’re going for new Ferragamo shoe leather freshly polished, the woods - lovely dark and deep - as well as alluring field gown tobacco drying in the sun. The finish whispers gently, “please don’t rush, let me linger on your palate just a little longer.” 42 cases remaining 100 cases produced.

Redolent of rich clean earthiness with a touch of berry and minerality, you have one of life’s loveliest grape varieties left to be itself. Before it becomes wine Grenache is a thin-skinned meaty grape with an incredibly delicious flavor profile. The 2011 put us in mind of Grace Kelly but this one is a bit more like Natalie Wood in West Side Story – a bit sexier, more youthful exuberance, an earthier beauty. Remember this is one of the best grapes for enjoying on it’s own – no food required here, just relish the complex flavors of a fine grape, full of nuanced flavor from beginning to the lingering finish. 12 cases remaining 95 cases produced.

At 75% Syrah and 25% Mourvèdre this wine embodies our sultry Syrah embellished with earthy, tarry Mourvèdre. This is a new blend for us but one we couldn’t resist when we tried it in our blending trials. Given over two years in barrel these grapes became one with the oak and now the stunning combination will delight your palate. Dark, dark fruit, a bit meaty, grounded by soft tannins, burnished by unmistakable Mourvèdre. This is quite a wine. 15 cases remaining 75 cases produced.

Put this wine to your lips and it will whisper softly, “Come weeth me to ze Casbah. . . . .” Okay, so those lines were never whispered by Charles Boyer to Hedy Lamarr in Algiers, but that hardly matters. What matters is that this exotic GSM will capture your imagination and your heart. It will turn you into a true romantic from the first whiff of the heady smoky, blueberry nose and keep you imprisoned in a flight of fancy as it dances in your mouth. Let it linger there a bit; then experience grippy tannins on the finish. This 40/40/20 blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre is a perfect barbecue wine. It’s also great to have when inviting someone to go with you to the Casbah. 40 cases remaining 125 cases produced.

A well-structured wine with strong but mellow tannins results from having spent over two years in French oak. We can’t help but think of the Crawleys of Downton Abbey in their elegant formal dining room as we sip this wine. It could easily keep the company of such discriminating aristocrats with its elegantly crafted dark velvety texture. A hint of blueberries hovers in the mouth while the nose carries a touch of rose petals. This wine will linger on your appreciative palate well after the taste of the wine is just a happy memory. 2 cases remaining 75 cases produced.

Is it possible for a single variety from the same vineyard to just get better and better with each year that passes? Well, yes, and here is the proof. The magic combination of fresh raspberry/strawberry under laid by brambly earthy tones is a go-to end of day wine. The thin-skinned meaty nature of Grenache imbues it with rich “pretty” flavors. It’s a perfect wine to drink on it’s own, but it is amazing with Moroccan spices. Delicious, and versatile - just about as good as it gets. 24 cases remaining 75 cases produced.

Wow. You may not even want to drink this wine once you’ve fully appreciated the aroma. This is a deep dark beauty redolent of black licorice, blackberry and a bit of old shoe leather. There is some white pepper but we find it’s dominated by aromas of earth and fruit. Don’t forget to roll this one around your mouth. It doesn’t miss a single flavor receptor on its way to a long, smooth finish. 4 cases remaining 50 cases produced.

"How sweet it is. . . " An appropriate quote as it suggests not sweet as in cloying but sweet as in delightful, pleasing. This late harvest Viognier is the ideal finish to a lovely dinner. Silky pear, peach will bring a sigh of contentment. Low in alcohol, lightly sweet and brightly balanced this wine is an exclamation point in a fine dining experience. Give it dessert, or not, your choice. 12 cases remaining 90 cases produced.
